Self Help for Trauma
Emotional stress and trauma are an invisible pain that we take most seriously and we know may take time to heal completely. We also know that relaxation during an emotional stress response can be of great relief as a First Aid for until there is a possibility for professional care. We are an international task force for trauma relief consisting of several organizations and individuals that have practical experience of working with mass traumatization: after natural catastrophes, war and sexual violence.
During our work with survivors of the genocide in Rwanda and Congo we have faced situations where thousands of people experience emotional distress connected to traumatic experiences. Together with a trauma expert, we have developed a very efficient relaxation method (5 minutes) that can be used for self-help until professional care is available. The technique is called Trauma Tapping Technique (TTT). Anybody can try it, simply follow the instructions in our video, or download the step-by-step PDF. Our goal is to make this tool available to every person. How many people can you share it with?
